i wonder, sometimes, if we could somehow step back, and see our lives as a tapestry, what would it look like? -- an intricate weave, the skill of each as individual as a fingerprint -- a web of threads; created with fibers astonishingly strong and achingly fragile; a palette of colors from dazzling & vivid to subtle & muted -- what would our life look like if seen as a single image?

I saw my past today..... walking around, talking & laughing with so many people i've never seen. It wore different faces & went different places, with different people, for different reasons. I watched as much & as long as i could, i watched my past walk away, for different reasons, to different places in different faces, with different people. I watched until my present reminded me my future was waiting for me....somewhere.

last week, while i was walking home from the store, some crack-head noticed me as i passed and shoved something into my ribs, while saying, "you NEED these... only a dollar." i look down & it's a pair thick plastic knee-pads, the kind construction workers use.
"No thanks, i do a pretty damn good job w/o 'em."
....a couple of days later, the price had gone up to $2.

i posted this couple of years back, but i really like it...
so i'm gonna post it again.
(btw, if i can figure out how to do it correctly,
i'll post the rest of the set behind a link,
cuz 1 or 2 of 'em aren't quite worksafe.
